Dongeng Tidur: a glance of pattaya

This is a two day event that force me to come back early from home..
(yup, i believe that i should stay a little bit longer at home, just to make the air fare worth

)
however, i'm glad to have this opportunity (so i can fill up my bank account that nearly run out).

ok, where do i have to start...

This is the event name, The 2nd UCLG ASPAC Congress.

Don't ask me what UCLG stands for.
All i know is ASPAC stands for Asia Pacific

Now, although it is said that this event is held in Pattaya, it's not fully correct.
The location is actually at Jomtien, quite far from central pattaya (150 baht for group with song teo, one way).

But it's okay, because we need to work the whole day, so there is no point to stay in the real pattaya.
However, i do want to spent nights at the beach, and it fails.

Let me introduce you to our team.

First is the father and the baby, aka Niken. Father aka Faisal is the one who recruit all of us to join this event. Of course, he is the father.

And then, there are Tu and Grig..

And lastly, bu em and mas sigit, who join us at the last minutes..

I really am amazed by the conference hall. It was soo nice.

The main room is really really huge. And there is no such thing as standing screen for lcd projector.
the screens (yup, there are two, one on the left and the other on the right) was just there. Without any equipments.

The backdrop was also amazing.
How they can put it like that.

I'm sorry for being too technical.
I just see it from a person who usually organized seminars point of view

Well, although you can read that this event took place is Royal Cliff Beach Resort, don't get fooled. We are not staying in that hotel. It's just too expensive and not pedestrian friendly (you need to walk a thousand miles to reach the front gate, and yes, i'm exaggerating).

We were staying in a smaller hotel name island view hotel.
maybe average three stars hotel. But at least this lady is welcoming us on our arrival night, and the night after.

As you see, all of us wears yellow polo shirt.
yup, it's the best thing in this event.
They provide us free polo shirt.
Quoting my friend "at last, we have a yellow shirt.. and it's for free".
Well, having a yellow tshirt is a must here in thai. you can say that you're not yet a thai if you don't have yellow shirt. but buying them is the most difficult thing to do. Not because it's expensive, but the one that sold in the stores is just too... regular.. (yes, keep making excuses for not buying one)..

Because they only provide us with one tshirt, we can wear other dress for the second day.

At the end of the first day, we manage to visit the central of pattaya..
we take a walk at the famous walking street (is it really famous?).
