when i was little (my dear friend really hates when i start a sentence with this four words),
people oftenly said that i look like an indian..
they say "ooh.. you're beautiful.. you look like an indian girl"..
well, at that time i didn't feel offended, at least they say that i'm beautiful.
but as my grew up, especially nowadays, i don't see that fact as a compliment.
yes, i don't want to look like an indian.

here, in thai, people always thinks that i'm a thai's.
they oftenly talk to me in thai..
and keep talking.. and talking..
and then i just smile, and say "mai ko chai" which means i don't understand, or "puthai niknoy" (i don't know how to write it. so i write it as i pronounce it in bahasa) which means i only can speak little thai. before, i always say "puthai mai dai" which means i can't speak thai. but they became confuse because i'm saying that i can't speak thai while i speak that sentence in thai. conflicting

even campus security guard says like that.
he said, with a mix english-tarzan language, "look thai", while moving his hand circling his face. I translate it as "your face look like thai".
however, this thing sometimes bring benefit, especially when you shop in traditional market..
all you have to do is ask "ani tolai" which means how much is this, and then they will answer the real price, not the price for foreigner. however you need to understand simple numbers like one two three to ten, and after that you can bargain in english

some people, recently sellers in chatuchak market, thinks that i'm a philippinos. hmm, i can't say that i'm proud to hear it, because some of the philippinos that i know is not... good.. hihihi

and lastly, a friend of mine once said that he really like my picture. only that one.
i'm flattered...
until he say "you look really beautiful in that picture, you look like a pakistani"..
that sentence just successfully thrown me from the tenth level..
hellow.. do you think i look beautiful ONLY because i look like a pakistani??
sigh..
(not that i'm saying that pakistani girls are not beautiful.. but.. i don't like when people say i'm beautiful conditionally )

so...
when will i look like an indonesian????
